GB Mission Statement and Aim

GB Mission Statement

That all member countries of the Fellowship will be equal partners and shall not neglect to network and meet together to share in each other’s strengths and weaknesses, using their varied gifts and cultures for common good to be able to grow to full maturity in Christ. “

“To help girls become followers of the Lord Jesus Christ and through self-control, reverence and a sense of responsibility to find true enrichment of life”.

The Objectives

The Fellowship shall strive to conduct its affairs in accordance with the fundamental principles and guidelines determined by The Girls’ Brigade International Council.


Principles

The Girls’ Brigade acknowledges Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord according to the Scriptures and seeks to fulfill its Aim to the glory of one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.



The Girls’ Brigade witnesses to the standard set by Jesus Christ and gives positive teaching on the Christian attitude to life.

The Girls’ Brigade promotes a just society where all people are equally valued.



Statement of Belief

The Holy Scriptures, being the Word of God, contain all things necessary for salvation and are accepted as the final Authority.


The Trinity:- The Unity and Co – equality of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.


We believe in God the Father, Creator of Heaven and Earth.

We believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary. We believe in Jesus crucified, dead, buried, risen and ascended, who shall come to judge the living and the dead.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of eternal life.

Method

The work of the Fellowship shall be conducted through National Councils of the member countries in accordance with the guidelines of the Girls Brigade International.



The Fellowship shall encourage and support member countries in training, fellowship and extension work.


The official uniform, adopted and approved by the National Councils of member countries in accordance with The Girls Brigade International Council regulations, shall be the uniform of The Fellowship in shades of blue and white.
